...Some never thought of a place where mortals from the blood of average, normal existence would one day co-exist with those of the supernatural, the odd, and the immortal… But no one ever knew about the kingdom, Fragile Silence, either….
Hidden away from the rest of the world… Untouched by the development, destruction, and disease of mankind… Unknown and only ever imagined by the minds of the human race, yet known and whispered of by those of fur, feather, and scale. Said to have only ever existed many upon many decades ago, perhaps even before man first discovered fire, and known to be the one place upon Mother Earth where those of supernatural descent mingled and moved amidst those of the average and well-known. This was, and always has been Fragile Silence. Where Heaven and Hell are far too close for comfort to one another. But in-between these two well-known and spoken of places, is the known and common land of which both the natural and supernatural roam and encounter one another. The kingdom is vast and various. From wet, misty forests to the dry and barren deserts, the land here is drastically ever-changing and different from one place to another. Seeming like it’s own little continent, it’s own small yet massive part of the Earth’s crust. There are other lands neighboring the kingdom of Fragile Silence, and yet so few have ever seen the vast expanse of this hidden land. Some only ever dream of setting their gazes upon a land rumored to be breathtakingly beautiful, yet dangerous and wild all the same. And some have even taken it upon themselves to set out in search for this elusive kingdom. Some succeed in finding it, and some fail, lost forever more in unknown lands, with unknown threats and dangers. This is, of course, how the native and feral beings of the world came to learn of Fragile Silence’s quiet existence.
The years passed, and slowly, inhabitants made their way over dangerous and uncharted mountains and forests, canyons and deserts to stumble upon the true reality of Fragile Silence. To the East, the tallest mountain on the Earth’s surface. It stretches to the heavens, it’s top forever enshrouded in fog and cloud. To the West, somewhere below the soil, Hell sits. The thick smell of smoke, fire, sulfur, and brimstone looming heavy in the air, rising from the fiery depths of the land known to be only for the sinners. To the North and the South, the mortal lands rest. So various yet so close. Each so beautiful in their unique and individual wayas, yet each holds its dangers and its own lethal qualities. And then, in the heart of this kingdom of Fragile Silence, the neutral lands. There, the natural and supernatural mingle and mix. Some of the supernaturals take to the mortal lands, living as if they held that of the average and well-known within themselves, when in fact such is all too far from the truth and grand reality of things. The mortals here know of the supernatural life with which they share this kingdom. And for many years they have lived together in harmony and peace, aiding one another, trusting in each other. Horses and wolves, naturals and supernaturals, with many other native creature upon which to use as food, and vegetation upon which to graze and live on moved together in calm serenity. Things seemed ever perfect, ever tranquil….
But that was before the tension. Before Izo, the Overlord of Hell had made his mark upon Heaven‘s highest angel, Estraya. These two immensely powerful beings met once, and only once. And yet that encounter marked the beginning of the growing tension that looms thick and heavy over Fragile Silence to this very day. No one really knows what happened, what was said, and who started the naturally expected yet unwanted hostility between the Goddess of Light and the God of Bloodshed. But all anyone knows is that one can no longer feel as safe as one once could. No one can walk about the kingdom of Fragile Silence without fear quaking somewhere with the depths of their bodies any longer. The threat of war, of death, and of never-ending hate threatens to break the kingdom once known to contentedly live with one another as a whole, and turn Heaven and Hell upon each other, as history had so plainly written time and time again. Who can now be trusted? Can one truly distinguish who amongst the kingdom has sided with Heaven, or with Hell? Who within the Fragile Silence are truly recognized as Heavenly Knights, or Hellish Killers? Will there ever be peace as there once was, or are the Golden Years gone forever, to be lost in eternal darkness of fear and death?
...Maybe the war can be stopped… Maybe, someone will step forward and fulfill their destined fate as the ardent of peace, and bring back the Golden Years to Fragile Silence…
...But what if no one does? What if the war can’t be stopped….? Will all existence of Fragile Silence collapse upon itself, hidden forever in ruins….?
...Who will make the first move? Better still, a question rings within the minds of those calling Fragile Silence their home… Who will survive, and who will die...?
